After winning the 2023 Region 7, 5A traditional team championship on Feb. 4, the Cass Colonels are sending 11 grapplers to the Georgia High School Association state sectionals at Cambridge High in Milton on Feb. 11.
Woodland, finishing second in the regional championship, is also sending 13 wrestlers to the sectionals, while Cartersville — a fourth place finisher in the regional championship — is sending nine.
Representing Cass at the sectionals will be Lee Camp (106 pounds); Hunter Barrett (113); Caden Alford (120): Jake Crapps (126); Rowdy Duck (132); Tanner Toups (138); Tyler McKnight (144); Mason Tompkins (150); Kriecg Roe (157); Zach McKnight (165) and Parker Dunn (190.)
Woodland will be represented by Amari Kinnamore (106 pounds); Aiden Buchan (113 pounds); Nathan Cates (120); Paul Lanier (126); Tristen Clapp (132); Hayden Santora (138); Zachary Wallace (144); Jovante Luke (157); Heath Tatum (165); Melvin Ramos (175); Owen Jones (190); Champ Higden (215); and Kwadrus Wilson (285.)
Cartersville will be represented by Julian Cline (106 pounds); Grant Adams (120); Eaiden Neal (126); Talan Nix (138); Montgomery Tompkins (144); Jackson Latimer (150); Jonathon Neal Radford (175); Giancarlo Rivadeneyra (190); and Delroy Hurst (285.)
The winners at the sectionals will advance to the State Championship tournament, scheduled to take place in Macon from Feb. 16 through Feb. 18.
